Bridal alterations
We are an Edinburgh based bridal, dressmaking company. Along with our made- to measure dress design services we offer bridal alterations as well as alterations to bridesmaids dresses, evening wear, mother of the bride/groom outfits and any special occasion wear. Steph is a bridal alterations specialist with over 20 years experience working on bridal.
Many shop bought dresses are complicated in style with lace detail and bead work. This makes alterations intricate at times. Because our main objective is making bridal wear from scratch we have an inside knowledge of garment construction and fit. Therefore we can provide the best service in altering your garment as we really know what would work best.
If you require alterations on a gown that you have already purchased we would be happy to alter it for you.
Cost of alterations depends on the amount that needs to be done and the complexity of your gown.

Buying wedding dresses online is becoming very popular. Please take into account that most of these dresses needs altering (a service I am happy to provide) when you budget for your dress.
I provide a measuring service for you purchasing online dresses at £15/per person. You are required to bring a list of the measurements that the online shop needs with you please. Please be aware that customers who get measured professionally will mostly still require alterations to there dresses as the dresses are not strictly made to measure (made to measure is only possible when you are able to fit the customer). But by being professionally measured you are reducing the cost of your alterations as the correct measurements are send to the manufacturer. The quality of your dress will depend on the different manufacturer and the fabrics they use.
I also offer a pressing services for dresses purchased online as they are normally vacuum packed for posting which creases them badly.
The cost of pressing these garments are
£25 for a wedding dress
£15 for bridesmaids and evening dresses
